Nothing like a delicious bread with dry fruits and nuts in the morning can bring joy and energy to a family. I am hoping that you bake this recipe, also known as giosa bread (due to its shape), and enjoy it with your loved ones.
Ingredients
-
- Ingredients for Cranberry walnut bread:
-
- Flour: 350 Gram
-
- Instant yeast: 10 Gram
-
- Salt: 1/2 tsp
-
- Honey: 1/4 cup
-
- Milk: 1 cup
-
- Butter: 30 gram
- Dry cranberry: 30 gram
Instructions
-
- First in a large bowl, combine flour, instant yeast and salt; make a well in the center and add your honey followed by milk. Ensure to add the milk slowly, and start kneading until you get a soft dough.
-
- Now, transfer the dough to a floured surface, and continue kneading. By the time gradually add your room-temperature butter (don’t add more flour). Continue kneading until you have a smooth elastic dough.
-
- At the end, add walnut and dried cranberry. Knead until properly mixed.
-
- In this step, place the dough in a greased bowl. Cover with a damp dish towel or plastic wrap and let the dough rise in a warm place until it has doubled in volume (about 1 to 1 1/2 hours.)
-
- Grease a baking sheet or use parchment paper. Punch down the dough and knead for another 5 minutes. Divide it into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece to form a long, thin strip.
-
- Braid every 3 strips together and fold ends from both sides to hold them in place.
-
- Cover loosely and let it rise in a warm place for at least 30 minutes.
-
- Preheat oven to 360F and brush the top of the breads with egg. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and bake for 30 minutes or until golden.
- Once baked transfer to a wire rack and let them cool before serving.
